A little rage

You cannot be straight-edge unless you are over the age of 18 [21 in the states].
I'm sick of whiny kids thinking less of others for no good reason. If you aren't old enough to drink and have sex then you are simply obeying the law, just like most of the world!
And then it goes to other real straight-edge people, always getting girls with the 'I'm straight-edge' thing. This is massively double standard because straight edge means no sex. Some times even no meat. Its like bloody Christianity sometimes is. People pick and choose whatever they fancy. I know some people who are straight-edge and/or christian and they are great at it, I'll even respect them for a moment for their faith!

Being fully straight-edge is like being fully christian and vegan at the same time - just without the deity...

This is a work in progress. I'm trying to re-ignite this blog.

The sad idea I've had is to draw a Pokemon every day. Over 500 of the buggers now.
I'll still love em more than most. And i don't rave about OMFG I LOVE POKEMONZ COS ITZ COOL. or tell you the first 150 are the best...

Today...

Today I saw 2 films I sort of tried to avoid - Alice in Wonderland and Avatar.
I never wanted yo see Avatar based purely on the hype, it just seemed to over rated and i didn't wanna be let down/follow the crowd. I'm the sort of guy who would probably try to stop breathing because its so popular...

Avatar was immense though, as much as it pains me to say... I can almost see why there is Na'vi fan rehab...

With Alice in Wonderland I went with the geef and her mother - she came up for mothersday.
But basically, the Mad Hatter wielding a massive claymore did it for me... I hate Jonny Depp usually, but he was pretty sick; and Tim Burton... I avoid him like the plague, but again, it was pretty damn good...

On a final note I've been working on some form of webcomic... might go all out with it... completely inspired by my Uni comicbook work and reading them so often...

Just some stuff I scanned at Uni today...

Fallen completely in love with The Darkness again. Bought "The Accursed" volume 1 today in Newcastle for really cheap - for a graphic novel anyway. I've never seen this side of The Darkness comics before, its a more advanced time. The stuff that has stuck with me is all the origins story. I just love it.

Last Night...

Gig last night was awesome, ADTR were on fire, as were the 'Tects.
Problem came at the end of the night when we had no train home.
So we wander the streets for an hour, find a travelodge, last minute book it on the internet.
Epic times...

Dan Mumford is straight-up my favorite artist.
I just love the spirals and swirls that make up the work.

This is how I gained this name...

Garth is an odd name and I always wondered why my parent's gave it to me.
I'm named after this guy. He's a World War Two hero. His comics ran from 1943 to 1997.
Recently he has been picked up again. The picture above and one other are the only proof I can find.
By coincidence I was always into comics, they are the reason I got into Graphics...
We currently have a comic related assignment; I love it.
